Contact the Kirchner report

We work every day to bring you the latest in automotive news, and we value your feedback. You can find out how to reach us on this page. If you work in public relations, there is also information here for you to contact us. Additionally, if you’re someone who has a news tip that you want to share, you can find out how to do it securely (and anonymously if you wish) right here. We protect the privacy of our services.

Send us feedback

If you want to send specific feedback about the site, or have any questions, you can reach out to [email protected]. We are very busy and we might not be able to respond to your message right away, but we do take the time to read each and every message you send.

public relations contact

If you work in PR, please send any pitches or contact emails to hi@kirchnerreport. If you use any of the methods below to reach out, your message will not be responded to and you risk having your contact information blocked. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

proton mail

From a non-work, personal computer you own or have access to, you can securely send an email to our Proton Mail account. If you send from Proton Mail to Proton Mail, that email is encrypted. Our Proton Mail account is currently [email protected]. You can sign up for a Proton Mail account for free by clicking this link.

Signal

Signal is a secure, end-to-end encrypted communication app for sending secure messages. From a personal device, you can send us a Signal message at chadkirchner.1701. To learn more about Signal and its security, you can click here.

OnionShare Drop box

We maintain an OnionShare secure drop box on the dark web to anonymously transfer files and messages. This is the most secure way to reach out to us. Keep in mind, anything you send can’t be linked to you, so please include a secure contact method when you submit a file so we can follow-up with you, if you wish. From a personal device, connect to the Tor network and load the Tor browser, then copy and past this URL into your Tor browser without the parenthesis (ibbsrg5g3uuupxj6yjlptge6bfmgivolylfqgaau3y2gfxsx2cafv3id.onion). Privacy Tips and disclaimer

When you reach out to us using a secure method, please make sure you do it from a device you control. If you use an Internet cafe, library, or other public location, be sure to check to make sure you’re not being observed from an overhead camera or someone around you. While the communication itself might be secure, if someone can see over your should you’re not as secure as you’d like to be.

Additionally, if you send information from a work computer or a monitored device, your message is not secure. While the communication itself is sent securely, it is not secure as someone else can read the message on your end. That can expose who you are.

For more information on how to leak information to a reporter safely, you can click this link and see tips from the Freedom of the Press Foundation. You can also learn about the different secure communication methods there, so you can pick the one right for you.

Every effort is made to protect the identity of a source. Keep in mind that files you submit might contain metadata linking you to the data. We make every effort to remove the metadata — and so should you — before publishing any files. We also keep our communications private, and when you reach out everything is considered off the record until discussed otherwise.

That being said, we can’t guarantee that your identity won’t eventually be identified, and assume no responsibility should that occur.
